contemporary hand cast paper

paper hangings
randori, hand cast paper, lino cut and embossed print, 1995 - 2006

Large scale paper hangings are designed for interiors, using Kozo, a Japanese paper fibre. This gives strength and durability. Each sheet is different and all the various fibres impart a unique quality to the papers.

Strong, translucent and absorbent, kozo papers are the most common of Japanese papers, and are produced using the long, rough fibres of the mulberry tree.
